Professional photography services
Making property stand out.
Our Technique
Our photographers shoot using tripods with geared heads, carefully correcting for every angle. Each photograph is actually a combination of five pictures captured at varying exposures. These are then blended together to create a single tone mapped HDR image.
Blue sky at no extra cost
Quite often, with our UK weather, the sky will be nothing more than an almost white washed out grey. As part of our photography service, our editors will insert a blue sky into any picture that requires it, which enhances exterior property photography, helping to achieve a faster sale.
Delivered
We deliver multiple shots of each room from all relevant angles. Each picture is edited and colour corrected, and then resized to look the absolute best on any website or portal. We deliver the digital files within two working days, but sooner if possible.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the property have to be empty?
Although it is not essential for owners to be out of the property during the shoot, it certainly makes it easier for our photographers. Having to move people from room to room and making sure no-one is reflected in mirrors or shiny surfaces like TV’s certainly can slow down the process, especially because we have to shoot in each room more than once (pictures, video, 360º virtual tours. So if the owner is able to leave during the shoot and go for a walk or sit in their car, it will certainly speed the process up.
How long does it take to shoot a property?
It all depends on the size of the property and the amount of services required.
Our photographers shoot pictures, video, 360 virtual tours, and also measure the property to create a floor plan when back at the office. Each one of these services is a job in its own right, but on average a standard two bed home with all four services will take around 2 hours to complete. A four or five bedroom home could take up to 4 hours with all four services.
Will the photographer capture inside and out?
Our photographers will photograph and film both the outside and inside of the property. 360º virtual tours are almost always interior only, but can include the exterior if requested prior to the day of shooting. Exterior 360 photography is not always possible on windy days. 360º virtual tours are only recommended if there is an important feature outside; i.e. landscaping or an exterior office etc.
But I have a camera, can’t I just shoot it myself?
The problem with the digital age is that everyone thinks they are a photographer. Sure they can select a setting on their camera and press a button, but photography is a whole lot more than that. Photography is about problem solving. Every property is different and has it’s own list of problems. Only experience will allow a space to be captured to it’s full potential. Vertical lines should be vertical and the viewer has to be able to see inside and outside in a single shot.
Preparing a home for a shoot
Bathrooms and kitchens
Remove toilet rolls from all bathrooms, ensuite and WC’s. Remove toiletries if possible, Make sure mirrors, glass, and taps etc are clean and smear-free. Remove waste bins and make sure kitchen worktops are clean and clear of clutter.
Pets
Remove all traces of pets on the day of the shoot. From dog bowls to dog beds, hamster cages to cat climbing trees. Make sure soft furnishings are free of pet hairs, especially ones with dark material. Get pets out of the house on the day if possible.
Less is more
Decluttering is one of the most important things to make a property look good in pictures and video. Remove coats from coat-stands, shoes from entrance halls. Bathrobes should be removed from the backs of bedroom doors and toys put away.
